September 8, 2009 10:45 AM
After years of
battling lawsuits to defend their right to wire themselves with 21st century
infrastructure, Lafayette, LA is beginning to realize the fruits of its
labor through the deployment of one of the fastest full fiber residential
broadband networks in the country. Annual Conference attendees have the opportunity to see what’s happening in the heart
of Cajun country where you’ll be able to tour world-class facilities like the
LITE Center, the only 3D visualization center of its kind available to the
public; listen to and talk with local leaders who are discovering innovative
ways to use the fiber to improve their community; tour the LUS network
operations center; and partake in the terrific food and lively music of one of
the richest cultures in America.
This tour has been added as an optional event for Annual Conference attendees. The tour will take place on Tuesday, September 29th from 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM. Your day in Lafayette will be educational, inspiring,
and, most importantly, a whole lot of fun! Don’t delay - the tour is
limited to 25 registrants on a first-come, first-served basis. The cost
per tour attendee is $100. To register or for more information, contact NATOA Headquarters at (703) 519-8035.
