Public Interest Organizations Announce Support for the Role of Local Governments in National Broadband Plan

Earlier today, more than a dozen public interest organizations filed comments with the FCC supporting the role of local governments in the National Broadband Plan.  The comments detail the organizations’ support for the comments filed by NATOA, NLC, NACo, and the U.S. Conference of Mayors earlier this month.

 

The comments were filed today by Access Humboldt, the Benton Foundation, CCTV Center for Media and Democracy, Center for Media Justice, Center for Rural Strategies, Media Action Grassroots Network, Media Alliance, Media and Democracy Coalition, Media Mobilizing Project, Mountain Area Information Network, National Alliance for Media, Arts, and Culture, National Federation of Community Broadcasters, New America Foundation, Open Technology Initiative of the New America Foundation, Public Knowledge, and Reclaim the Media.
