NATOA’s 30th Annual Conference an Industry Success

Alexandria, VA – October 4, 2010 – Last week the National Association of Telecommunications Officers and Advisors (NATOA) held its 30th Annual Local Government Conference in Washington, DC.  The conference featured a dynamic speaker roster including keynotes from Assistant Secretary of Commerce and NTIA Administrator Larry Strickling, USDA’s Rural Utilities Service (RUS) Administrator Jonathan Adelstein and Phil Weiser, The White House Senior Advisor for Technology and Innovation to the National Economic Director.

 


With more than 20 dynamic general sessions, keynotes and panels including a full-day pre-conference workshop on Broadband and Economic Development, the four-day event was received with great enthusiasm by more than 230 NATOA members, sponsors, exhibitors and industry colleagues in attendance. 

Awards presentations included the 2010 Jane Lawton Commemorative Award to Congresswoman Tammy Baldwin, NATOA’s prestigious Community Broadband Awards to a handful of exceptional leaders and innovative programs that champion broadband deployment in local communities nationwide, the Brian Wilson Memorial Award for Programming Excellence and culminated with the 25th Annual Government Programming Awards during a gala held Friday, October 1st at the Washington Court Hotel.
