FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE (September 24, 2013) – The National Association of Telecommunications Officers and Advisors (NATOA) announced that the Georgia Municipal Association (GMA) has been named 2013 Member of the Year at NATOA’s recent Annual Conference in Orlando, FL. Presenting the award was NATOA Board Member and SEATOA President Catharine Rice. Accepting the award for GMA was Marcia Rubensohn, Deputy Director Governmental Relations.
“For two years in a row, GMA has fought anti-municipal broadband legislation that would have denied Georgia’s local communities the ability to provide Gigabit broadband to their businesses and residents,” noted NATOA President Tony Perez. “GMA’s work over the last two years embodies Member of the Year qualifications and we congratulate them on this well-deserved recognition.”
NATOA’s Member of the Year is selected based on exemplary contributions to the association within the last year and cumulatively on issues of importance to NATOA and local governments.
