Jodie Miller Biography
Jodie Miller is the Executive Director at Northern Dakota County Cable Communications Commission (NDC4) and its affiliated non-proft Town Square Television in Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota.NDC4 Cable Commission is a seven-city joint powers cooperative serving as the combined local franchise authority for its seven member cities. Town Square Television is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation serving as the PEG facility for the seven-city area, with a combined population of about 86,000 and approximately 22,000 cable subscribers. This is a suburban community with a diverse group of cities ranging in size from 200 to 34,000.
Jodie has been with NDC4 22 years and the executive director 17.5 years. She has a BS degree in mass communications and English with a business minor. She manages 15 employees and runs two entities with combined budgets of approximately $1.5 Million. NDC4 has been an active NATOA member since its inception, and Jodie and her staff have been privileged to work on many projects and committees with other members from Minnesota and around the country, including providing a judging site for the GPA awards.
She served her first term on the NATOA board in 2009-2011 and has enjoyed the opportunity to work with excellent people from around the country and to learn from them, “I have been able to give back to the organization after many years of receiving the benefits of membership. This is a critical time in our history, and we have to keep working hard for the things we believe in. NATOA is doing really important work for its members and for our country.”
Jodie is the current co-chair of NATOA’s Policy & Legal committee and a member of the Conference Committee. She is proud to have helped transform the annual tradition of attending a major league baseball game during the NATOA Conference into an official conference activity.
She has also been a committed member of the state chapter MACTA and served on its board and as board chair. MACTA received one of its NATOA chapter of the year recognitions under her chairmanship. Currently she co-chairs the MACTA legislative committee, which holds monthly conference calls, provides a quarterly newsletter and regular e-mail updates, and plans several legislative events for its members every year. For the 2009-11 Minnesota Legislative Sessions she has been the liaison to MACTA’s contract lobbyists and has been a spokesperson for MACTA in individual legislative meetings and testifying at hearings.
Jodie has board experience on the local chamber of commerce board of directors, the local food shelf board of directors, and serves on the Capital Campaign committee for the local food shelf. She volunteers as crew director to serve a weekly meal for 350 at her church. She loves spending time with her husband and two daughters, and obsessing over the Minnesota Twins.
