Congressman Dingell Challenges Comcast Corporation
On December 21, 2007, Congressman Dingell sent a letter to Comcast Corporation challenging the corporation’s decision to move PEG channels to the digital tier and require additional equipment for subscribers to be able to view the PEG channels. Congressman Dingell has requested Comcast to reconsider that decision based on the statutory provisions of Section 623 of the Act and the legislative history in which Dingell reminds Comcast that Congress believed that these channels should be available to all subscribers with the lowest tier of available service. He has requested a reply from Comcast no later than January 7, 2008.
