Gomez Named Acting Chief of NTIA
Anna Gomez, a former FCC staffer and legal advisor to Chairman William Kennard, has been named the new acting chief of the National Telecommunications and Information Administration. After her tenure at the FCC, Ms. Gomez went on to work for Sprint-Nextel as vice president of state and federal regulatory and government affairs. Gomez replaces Meredith Atwell Baker as the deputy assistant secretary for communications and information, the post’s official title under the Department of Commerce’s structure.
