Rep. Boucher New Chair of House Communications Subcommittee
Representative Rick Boucher (D-VA) has officially been named the new chairman of the House Subcommittee on Communications, Technology, and the Internet, replacing former chairman Rep. Edward Markey (D-MA). This subcommittee had previously been known as the Telecommunications and the Internet subcommittee. Rep. Markey will now chair the Energy & Air Quality subcommittee, deciding to move on from his long time post as chair of the telecom subcommittee. Representative Joe Barton of Texas will continue as Ranking Member for the minority.
Democratic leadership has also announced assignments for all of the subcommittees of the Energy and Commerce Committee; Republican assignments are due sometime next week and will be posted here as they become available. Continue reading to see committee assignments.
