NATOA Congratulates Dr. Nicol Turner-Lee

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – March 21, 2012 – NATOA congratulates Nicol Turner-Lee as the new president and CEO of The National Association for Multi-Ethnicity in Communications (NAMIC). Currently the vice president and first director of the Media and Technology Institute at the Joint Center for Political and Economic Studies, Dr. Turner-Lee will begin her new post on April 2nd, as NAMIC announced today.

“Nicol has been a long-time friend to NATOA and her extensive research and advocacy for minority broadband adoption will be a remarkable asset to NAMIC,” noted NATOA President Joanne Hovis. “We congratulate her on this position and look forward to working with her and NAMIC on areas of common interest.”

NATOA is a national association representing local government jurisdictions and consortiums, including elected and appointed officials and staff, who oversee communications, broadband and technology.

NAMIC is the premier organization focusing on multi-ethnic diversity in the communications industry. Through initiatives that focus on education, advocacy and empowerment, NAMIC champions equity and inclusion in the workforce.
