Nina Chavez

Nina Chávez Góngora is an award-winning filmmaker and Communications Director for the City of Alamo, Texas. She holds a Master's degree in Screenwriting from the London Film School, completed postgraduate filmmaking studies at Prague Film School, and graduated Summa Cum Laude in Theater, Television, and Film from The University of Texas–Pan American.

With a background in film production, screenwriting, cinematography, and editing, Nina has spent over a decade crafting stories that connect with audiences. Her work includes short films, commercial productions, and contributions to Netflix series including Narcos: México and Monarca.

Today, she applies the principles of cinematic storytelling to public sector communications, helping transform how local government connects with its community through authentic, engaging digital content. Passionate about making government feel more human, Nina believes the best public communication doesn't just inform, it makes people stop, feel something, and care.
