Cheryl Johnson specializes in assessing broadband communications needs and options, local franchise enforcement/compliance, and recommending effective solutions for public sector clients. She has extensive experience working in local and regional government specializing in communications/emergency communications management, fiber networks, franchise enforcement, community broadband and PEG access needs assessments, public information/local access programming, and municipal management.
Following a career in radio and television news and public affairs, she served as the Communications Director/PIO in a number of local governments and consortiums. After serving two terms on the board of directors, she stepped in as the interim Executive Director of NATOA at a critical time of transition. She has since provided public sector consulting services for many years.
