Tommy Shenefield

Tommy is a community media practitioner and artist dedicated to helping everyone find and share their voice. As the assistant manager for WBCA 102.9 FM, Tommy interviews local musicians, hosts live event coverage, and teaches Bostonians from ages 11-91 to share their voices with the city through community broadcasting. He also builds partnerships with nonprofits and universities, including an ongoing collaboration with MassArt Radio.

Tommy got involved in community media in ninth grade, when he began volunteering at Arlington Community Media, Inc. While at Vassar College, he served as the visual director for WVKR 91.3 FM. Recognizing the power of local media, Tommy is committed to strengthening our stations and the bonds between them. He currently serves on the national board of the Foundation of the Alliance for Community Media, as well as the board of the ACM Northeast Region.
