Maya Gilmore is a multimedia producer currently serving as the Executive Director of the Mayor’s Office of Cable and Communications for Baltimore City. Maya oversees the CharmTV and Engage Network platforms dedicated to amplifying Baltimore’s voice and culture, further cementing her role as a key figure in the city's media landscape.
Beginning her career as a segment producer for FOX45 in Baltimore, Maya curated an impressive portfolio, crafting segments that ranged from lifestyle to politics. Her signature features like “Your Voice,” “Hometown Hotspot,” “Funny Friday,” and “Creature Feature” became beloved staples. Maya further showcased her talents at WTIC Fox61 in Hartford, Connecticut, solidifying her reputation as a transformative morning news producer. A proud alumna of Morgan State University, Maya's commitment to nurturing the next generation of storytellers led her to become a lecturer in the School of Global Journalism and Communications. Maya's professional journey has taken her across major networks like NBC, ABC, FOX, and VIACOMCBS, encompassing a wide array of media formats including television, film, digital content, and special events.
Driven by her passion for storytelling, Maya pursued advanced studies at the University of Southern California, earning a master’s degree as an Annenberg Fellow with a focus on Specialized Journalism documentary film. With her upcoming directorial debut in "Music Liberated: Baltimore’s in the House," a documentary and podcast exploring the city’s rich history of house music, Maya continues to push the boundaries of storytelling and community engagement.
