Professional Bio

Rick Assmus started working for the City of Arvada in the Engineering Department as a Cad Technician taking the city's paper mapping into the digital world. In 2000 he moved to KATV8, the city's government PEG channel. After working at KATV for 8 years as an editor, he was given the opportunity to oversee the PEG channel. He did that up until 2016 when another opportunity came up and he became the Project Manager for AFON, Arvada Fiber Optic Network. Rick has continued to work on AFON as the Community Connectivity Manager. He also has been the Vice President for the past 6 years for the CCUA, Colorado Communications and Utilities Alliance, which is Colorado's State chapter to NATOA. Growing up in Arvada and now working for the City for the last 30 years has been nothing but remarkable and a lifetime experience. He enjoys being part of the CCUA and NATOA organizations and serving on their boards.
