Digital Media Coordinator - City of Garland, TX
Summary
As a member of the Public & Media Relations Department, the Digital Media Coordinator supports both internal and external audiences, conveying important information and promoting a positive image of Garland. This position is responsible for the planning and execution of digital media content, including video production, live broadcasts, advertising, storytelling and more.
Pay Range: $58,614 - $ 65,665 (Depending on qualifications and experience)
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Capture and edit videos and still imagery for distribution on CGTV, websites, social media and other digital publications.

Assist with directing live broadcasts of public meetings and other programs for CGTV and live video streaming.

Cover special events with the ability of a quick turnaround time for social media and local news outlets.

Conceptualize and write promotional and marketing material to inform, engage and grow internal and external stakeholder engagement.

Provide creative editorial guidance on how to incorporate multimedia elements into communications campaigns, initiatives and programs.
Minimum Qualifications

Four-year college degree
-
1-3 years related experience
Or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
Preferred Qualifications
Education/ Experience:
-
Bachelor’s Degree in Video Production, Broadcast Journalism, Communications, Digital Media, or related field of study

4-6 years’ experience in Video Production
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Proficient in videography and video editing

Highly skilled in scriptwriting, creative writing and storytelling

Knowledge of lighting, sound, video and photo equipment

Understanding of social media and web media applications

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Ability to maintain privacy and confidentiality, when needed
Licenses and Certifications

Valid Class C Texas driver's license
Physical Requirements / Work Environment
The incumbent works both in inside and outside environmental conditions; occasional exposure to unpleasant environmental conditions or hazards. Work requires standing, walking, lifting up to 25 lbs, grasping, and repetitive motions. Some night and weekend hours can be expected.
