Job Opportunity - Executive Director:
Are you passionate about community media and empowering local voices in a vibrant rural
Massachusetts community? Athol-Orange Community Television (AOTV), a nonprofit public access
station serving Athol and Orange, MA, is seeking a dynamic and visionary leader for our organization.
About AOTV:
We are “Your Media Connection” in the North Quabbin region – providing training, equipment, and airtime
for residents to create diverse and informative programming for Public, Educational and Government
Access TV station, plus a low-power radio WVAO 105.9FM. Our mission is to enrich the community
through responsible programming, volunteer involvement, government/educational coverage, and local
storytelling.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily operations, staff, volunteers, and facilities
- Manage budget, fundraising, and grant writing to ensure financial sustainability
- Build relationships with community partners, local government, and cable provider
- Foster innovative programming and outreach to engage all residents
- Maintain and upgrade equipment/studio for high-quality production
- Report to the Board of Directors and collaborate on strategic planning
Qualifications:
- BA or BS degree from an accredited college or university in media or related field is required
- Experience in nonprofit management, media literacy, and/or community organizations
- Strong skills in fundraising, budgeting, and team building
- Knowledge of public access television (PEG), video production, or related fields preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated community involvement
This is a full-time position based in Athol, MA. Annual salary range is $58,000 – $63,000 commensurate
with experience, plus benefit package.
