July 23, 2025—The National Association of Telecommunications Officers and Advisors (NATOA) congratulates Arielle Roth on her U.S. Senate confirmation as Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Communications and Information and Administrator of the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA).
Administrator Roth will lead one of the most consequential federal broadband initiatives in American history: the $42.45B Broadband Equity, Access, and Deployment (BEAD) Program. Under her direction, the NTIA will implement the BEAD Program objective of accessible and affordable high-speed internet, especially those historically underserved or disconnected.
NATOA looks forward to partnering with Administrator Roth to advance our shared goals of broadband deployment, affordability, and adoption. As local government officials who understand the unique needs and circumstances of our communities, NATOA remains committed to working closely with NTIA and other stakeholders. We stand ready to offer insights and recommendations on local implementation strategies that reflect Congressional intent in the bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA) to bridge the digital divide for all.
The National Association of Telecommunications Officers and Advisors (NATOA) is the nonpartisan local government association supporting our members by advocating for broadband deployment, digital equity, cable services, Public, Educational and Governmental Access (PEG) Television, public safety communications and the preservation of local authority in our public rights of way (PROW.)
